No two chaotic cutting boards are the same the woods used can include walnut, maple, catalpa, yellowheart, purpleheart, redheart, bloodwood, paduk, osage orange, and cherry among others. These endgrain cutting boards take five days to make but the end result is worth it. They are finished with a food safe mineral oil that brings out the wood's natural beauty.

Our natural edge or "live edge" cutting boards as they are sometimes called are unique creations. The live edge is the outside of the tree itself. The edge grain is rich in character and figuring.

That is simple to do, the user just needs to liberally apply mineral oil and rub it into the wood and let it sit. The wood's natural luster will return like magic.

Or boards are soaked in mineral oil, coated with a butcher block conditioner, and then waxed with a walrus oil wood wax. The boards should be hand washed with warm water and mild soap only when necessary. They should never be put in a dishwasher because it will cause warping, cracking, and cupping. Heavy use and frequent washing can cause them to loose their luster. Fortunately it is easy to return them to their pristine condition using these products.
This is a combination of pure USP grade mineral oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax. The penetrating quality of food-grade mineral oil along with the water-resistant traits of beeswax and carnauba wax helps to rejuvenate the wood and prevent drying.
Beeswax, Coconut Oil, and Mineral Oil wood conditioner for your cutting board, give it new life with rich color and shine. Coconut Oil also provides some cleansing elements to the wax while the Vitamin E is a strong antibacterial component. Wax is very dense, just a pinch goes a long way. Wood Wax will add extra protection from water while bringing out more vivid wood color and shine. Simply apply a thin layer of wax, dry for 15 minutes, then buff with a rag.
Walrus Oil is a liquid form and does not solidify under normal conditions, its shelf stable and has virtually no scent. It goes on smooth, not too thick and not to thin, and won't contaminate food with a strange taste. It will leave your board with a silky smooth finish, rich color, and a little shine. Use two coats for more depth and color.
